The SPEED S8610 10G multi-service core routing switch is a new-generation high performance switch. It is extensively applied as the core layer of E-government networks, Campus networks, Education networks and Enterprise networks and core layer or aggregation layer of Carrier’s IP MANs.
Based on 10G platform, it supports new generation high-speed 10Gbps interface card that provides interconnection between MANs, Campus networks and Data centers to construct end-to-end Ethernet, featuring low cost, high performance and reliability to
support abundant services. Furthermore, it provides L2 and L3 wire-speed packet forwarding and distributed MPLS wire-speed forwarding by its high performance, high density and high reliability chassis architecture design. It also provides rich service functions, such as powerful QoS guarantee, complete security management and high reliability. All of these prove that SPEED S8610 is designed to fully satisfy the requirements of end-users for its high capability, high reliability and multiple services.
SPEED S8610 switch support the functions of strategy routing, IPV6, MPLS, load balancing and so on by extending the high-performance multi-service card, so satisfying the different application requirements in various complicated and flexible environments.
Advanced system structure
The distributed structure design is adopted in S8610 series switch, powerful ASIC chip is used in each interface card to provide distributed packet forwarding, and Crossbar technology is adopted for high speed packet forwarding cross interface cards, all of which greatly improve throughput and expansion capabilities of the routing switch. Built in main control board without taking up equipment slots, Crossbar switching fabric provides switching capacity upto 384G and can be set to work in active/standby. The longest path matching (LPM), 3-layer switching technology can achieve hardware 3-layer forwarding by exact search.
High switching capacity, high density wire-speed switching
Providing backplane bandwidth of 768G, switching capacity of 384bps and throughput of 285.7Mpps. High-density interface cards can be provided for the switch to support wire-speed forwarding. In addition, while keeping the wire-speed forwarding performance, the switch supports different high-density interface cards and combined interface cards to satisfy the core layer's requirements for high density and high throughput.
New generation 10G interface
The new generation 10G Ethernet interface card provides richer bandwidth and powerful processing capabilities while preserve the compatibility and easy upgrade. Meanwhile, 10G Ethernet provides pertinent solutions for MAN and WAN applications to simple the network architecture and reduce TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).
Supports IP V4/IP V6
Supports IP V6: ICMPV6、OSPFV3（for IPV6）、RIPng、MLDV1/V2、ISATAP、6 TO 4 Tunnels、configured Tunnels and so on.
Support L2 VPN（QINQ）
SPEED S8610 switch supports Service Provider vlan (Double Tagging、VLAN tunnel)，allows the second VLAN mark to switching data. Outer marker is used for create VPN and provides link choice, while inner marker is used for marking VLAN information, so realizing Ethernet L2VPN. It solves the classical problem of the security control of data transfer in Ethernet environment.

SPEED S8610 series 10GE Core Routing switch supports a rich set of routing technology which covers almost all current routing technologies.
Support for flexible queue scheduling algorithms, i.e. Strict Priority (SP), Weighted;
Round Robin (WRR), and SP+WRR; 8 priority queues;
Support for intelligent Layer 2-7 flow classification;
Support for IEEE 802.1p 、TOS、and DiffServ Code Point.
Rich multicast feature
It supports dynamic unicast/multicast routing protocols, can adapt different scales of networks and the environment where need many excellent multicast services, so realizing the extension of network;
It supports the checking function of IGMP source port and source IP, can efficiently avoid the illegal multicast source and improve the high-security of network.
Diversified management modes
SPEED series support Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), the general network management platform such as Open View.They support Command Line Interface (CLI), Web network management, and TELNET, so that equipment management becomes more convenient.
